Vans Warped Tour Australia will be returning in November and December for the first time in 11 years. The tour will make its way down the East Coast with shows in Brisbane, Coffs, Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne and Adelaide.
With 18 artists announced so far, the lineup is full of a who’s who of the alternative music scene with more to come. We’ve dissected the lineup so far, offering recommendations for each of the artists you can catch this Summer at the festival.
Check out part three featuring Detroit metalcore band We Came As Romans, Welsh rock five-piece Kids in Glass Houses, Arizona poprockers The Summer Set and Sydney pop punkers Tonight Alive below.
Earlier this year, We Came As Romans released their third album Tracing Back Roots. The Michigan metalcore outfit recorded the album in March and April with Goldfinger frontman John Feldmann [DRUGS, The Used, Escape the Fate] in the producer’s seat.
We Came As Romans made their Australian debut as part of the No Sleep Til festival in 2010, before returning last year to support The Devil Wears Prada on a national run.
We Came As Romans spent the better part of the year on the U.S. Vans Warped Tour and are currently out on a headline tour around the States. They will end the year with runs on the U.K. and European legs of the festival before making their Australian return as Warped Tour Australia.
RIYL: Blessthefall, Pierce the Veil, Woe is Me
Our Picks: ‘Hope’,’Fade Away’, ‘I Survive (ft. Aaron Gillespie)’

Kids in Glass Houses
Welsh rockers Kids In Glass Houses are no strangers to Australia supporting You Me At Six and The Audition back in 2010 before returning for the 2012 Soundwave Festival.
While here, they also performed sidewaves alongside fellow Welshmen Lostprophets. AMH made our way down to the show where Kids in Glass Houses “continued showcase their live skills by adding extended riffs, screaming and other little improvisations which added to the live experience.”
Kids in Glass Houses are just about to release their fourth album Peace before returning for Vans Warped Tour Australia. “The approach to this record was to do something in the vein of what we used to do, where we focused on writing singles, as on ‘Smart Casual’ and ‘Dirt’,” says frontman Aled Phillips. “Then again, it’s as experimental as the last album, but instead of making one big, sprawling album we tried to make each song as catchy and memorable as possible.”
RIYL: You Me At Six, Lostprophets, Biffy Clyro
Our Picks: ‘Drive’, ‘The Best Is Yet To Come’, ‘Gold Blood’
You can stream Peace in it’s entirety here.
The Summer Set released their anticipated third album Legendary earlier this year. “We’ve gotten older and are better songwriters,” frontman Brian Dales told Teen Vogue before the release. ”After being in a band for five years, I think we got it right this time and I’m the proudest I’ve ever been of any record we’ve ever made. We’ve gotten older and are better songwriters. It’s going to be a really feel-good, summer record—we are called The Summer Set and we never really made a record that sounded like that, so it was about time!”
After millions of votes, the Arizona pop-rockers were recently named winners of Macy’s iHeartRadio Rising Star which won them the opening slot at the iHeartRadio music festival in Las Vegas. The quintet played the Friday of the festival alongside the biggest names in music including Katy Perry, Justin Timberlake, fun. and Queen + Adam Lambert.
RIYL: Mayday Parade, The Cab, We the Kings
Our Picks: ‘Lightning in A Bottle’, ‘Maybe Tonight’, ‘About A Girl’
You can stream their latest album Legendary here.
Homegrown heroes Tonight Alive have just released their second album The Other Side to acclaim from fans and critics alike. The album, released last month, debuted at #5 on the ARIA charts and #1 on the ARIA Australian Artist charts.
In the lead up to the release, the Sydney pop-punkers were also named as the next act to feature in Vevo’s high profile, emerging artists program, Vevo Lift.
Tonight Alive are no strangers to the stage with an impressive touring resume, playing shows across the globe with Simple Plan, Anberlin, 3Oh!3, Pierce the Veil and Yellowcard; as well as appearances on the Soundwave Festival and two jaunts on the U.S. Vans Warped Tour. They recently performed a headline tour to packed rooms around the country alongside fellow Aussies Hands Like Houses and D At Sea.
Fresh off more international touring, you can catch Tonight Alive as they make their return on Vans Warped Tour Australia.
RIYL: Paramore, New Found Glory, Mayday Parade
Our Picks: ‘Lonely Girl’, ‘Wasting Away’, ‘Breaking and Entering’
